Despite Google’s reported censorship effort, the Trump campaign raked in over $53 million in donations in the first 24 hours since his conviction.
Google is reportedly suppressing searches related to donating to former President Donald Trump’s campaign following his conviction in a New York Court on Thursday.
Users on social media shared instances of Google searches where the term “donate to Trump” showed no results in the autofill.

Google trends data reveals searches for “How to donate to Trump” skyrocketed to unprecedented levels in the wake of his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Yet, the Google autofill revealed “donate to trans youth” appeared first instead.

Meanwhile, one user pointed out that, “Organically, Biden’s donation site search results go directly to page 1, to the top” of Google’s search results.

The Biden campaign also fundraised off of Trump’s conviction — but hasn’t disclosed how much it raised.
The Biden campaign was already primed to use Trump’s conviction to raise more money.
The donor battles have just jumped up a notch.
